LONDON CARICATURIST MR.SKETCHUM
MORE YOU THAN YOU ARE!
Greetings and welcome, I'm the London caricaturist known as Mr Sketchum - my 'ordinary' name is Alfie Deliss, but you can call me Mr Sketchum! I get hired to attend functions & draw fast, fun & free caricatures.
Over the past twenty years I've sketched at a staggering over three thousand parties, weddings and corporate events all across Old Blighty - I'm no stranger to county-to-county...staggering...
Going walkabout/mix'n'mingling, "table-hopping" around dinners, as well as able to find a couple of chairs and work from any convenient spot, I'll adapt to practically any setting - all I need is a guest with a smile (I can work with fake).
Everyone gets in on the act - as heroic subjects, cheeky kibbitzers, sardonic commentators, and gleeful witnesses to the eye-popping likenesses coming to life - and in no time flat they're presented with thrilling mini-masterpieces, which they all helped to create!
Guests deliver their verdicts on my work (I don't mind! *he says*), and congratulate themselves when they've come out well, yet they also take immense pleasure in affectionately ribbing one-another over their peculiarities, which in turn has the idiosyncratic yet admirable effect of bringing them together

Some of the venues I find myself at can be quite surreal! Voilà Monsieur Sketchum (below) at my favourite booking of 2018 (thanks Ian & Anna!). I dress smartly to events, but for this occasion I got the okay to kit myself out in my French ensemble - a magical wedding at an enchanted castle hosted by the equally-enchanting Dick Strawbridge & Angel Adorée in France - literally an Escape to the Château!
At around the same time, I was briefed to kit myself out as a "Belgian east London hipster caricature artist" (!...so it was on with the everyday Shoreditch garçon gear again) and was filmed for a section of an insane TV ad where I adopted a Belgian (French) accent while predicting World Cup footie fixture results (eh?!), while simultaneously doing a sketch of Paul Gascoigne - the one-and-only Gazza - on top of a moving double-decker bus!!
Of course I mainly perform at customary get-togethers - company dinners & drinks, a mixed bag of private & public celebrations, and lots of weddings. As long as guests are up for a little fun and I'm lucky enough to be given the opportunity to foster a good atmosphere, any setting is fine by me.
